CABRERA

Cabrera's most beautiful beach is called "Playa Grande”. Others, El Caleton de Dario, El Caleton del Medio and El Caleton de Chiquito are popular for those looking for calm and wilderness.

Not too far from Cabrera is Cabo Frances Viejo, a National Park reserve bathed by the sun and crowned with an imposing lighthouse from where visitors can witness the charms of the place.
 
5 - El Saltadero 6 - El Diamante 7 - Dudu Lagoon  
Magnificent waterfall. For the coolness and the big jump. Beautiful beach of white sand. Not too far from Playa Grande, for calm lovers.

The freshwater Lagoon Dudu, in the shape of a crater, offers limpid water to swimmers seeking freshness, and underwater caves to scuba divers.

 


RIO SAN JUAN

Voted as one of the 10 best beaches in the world by Condé Nast travel magazine.

A long stretch of white and clear turquoise waters. For relaxing or surfing. Dominican fresh cuisine served by small restaurants.
Playa Grande is destined to become known as one of the great courses of the world. Oceanfront, the course has 12 holes on the ocean side bluffs. Praised by professional and amateur players for its breathtaking views.

Playa Caleton, the "Lovers Beach", is a quaint and relaxing little beach, for a romantic afternoon.

Traditional and contemporary art. Representations of the culture of the island natives, "Los Tainos”.

     
12 - Gri Gri Lagoon      

The Gri Gri Lagoon offers boat trips through its mangrove forests. Unique caves, like the 'cave of the swallows'. Swim in "La Piscina", a crystal clear ocean cove where the lagoon ends.

   

 



CABARETE
 
13 - Caves of Cabarete 14 - Pueblo Callejon 15 - Playa Cabarete  
For fans of caving, the path to the cave of Cabarete is located near the west entrance of the village. Experienced guides will help you discover the original civilization of the Hispaniola island, the Tainos.

Within 100 yards from the center of Cabarete. The area of origin of Cabarete, gradually opening up to tourism.

THE "SPOT", ideal for windsurfing and kite boarding. Cabarete holds annual international professional competitions.
Surfing, mountain biking, horseback… Sun and Atmosphere…

 


SOSUA
 
16 - Judio Museum 17 - Playa de Sosua 18 - Synagogue  

Sunny circular museum traces the history of the Jewish community who moved to Sosua approximately 60 years ago. Magnificent carved wooden menorah.

Half a mile of white sand and gentle and transparent turquoise sea, in a cove protected by cliffs of coral. Restaurants and souvenir shops. Many diving tours.

The Jewish community gathers once a month at the synagogue. Tourists are often invited to join the religious holidays.

 


PUERTO PLATA
19 - Monumento Gregorio Luperon 20 - Cofresi – Ocean World 21 - Fuerte de San Felipe 22 - Parque central and San Felipe's church

Gregorio Luperón (1839 -1897) was a military chief and a statesman. He was the main craftsman of the restoration of the Republic Dominican after the Spanish annexation in 1863.

Cofresi is an attraction park with a lagoon to dolphins, a basin to sharks, as well as tigers, exotic birds, reptiles and tropical fishes. Restaurants in the park.

The fort of San Felipe stands majestically on a stretch of land advancing in the bay of Puerto Plata. The fort was constructed between 1541 and 1577 and constitutes the most ancient historic monument of the city. In downtown center, the Parque central and the church have just been restored. From there, some traditionnal wood houses can be seen.


SAMANA

Mediterranean peacefulness and atmosphere. Magnificent white sand beach edged of palm trees. Large choice of cafés, restaurants, and art and handicraft boutiques along the shore.

27 - Cayo Leventado      

Cayo Levantado is a sentinel guarding the bay of Samaná. One of the favorite places for visitors because of its tropical Caribbean island ambience, beautiful white sand beaches, typical Dominican music and Caribbean cuisine offered by the local people.
