Cabrera is located on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, about 130 kilometers north of the capital Santo Domingo, and belongs to the province of Maria Trinidad Sanchez.
Cabrera is also known as "Tres Amarras" since the day of its foundation, on July 1, 1891. Today Cabrera is a territory of 276 square kilometers, with a population of more than 39,000 inhabitants. The dominant religion of Cabrera is the Evangelical Christian Church.

The main sources of income for Cabrera are agriculture, livestock, meat, milk, coconut and rice, and tourism, more recently.
The current mayor is Jorge Cabrera Cavoli, the youngest of all the mayors in the country. Cavoli is a native of Cabrera and has been dedicated to create a very stable economic environment for his town. A former councilman of New York City, Guillermo Linares is also a native of Cabrera.
Cabrera is considered one of the most beautiful places in the Dominican Republic, with its beaches, Playa Grande and El Diamante, its rivers, its exotic flora and its many natural attractions. |
