Residence card - Visa
A person wishing to reside permanently in the Dominican Republic must obtain a residence permit from the Dominican immigration administration. A Dominican lawyer can take care of the application. His/her fees and other expenses, such as physical examination, represent approximately US$ 1,000 for a single person and US$ 1,200 for a couple. It is strongly recommended for persons permanently residing in the Dominican Republic to register with their consulate.
A person, who is not a resident in the Dominican Republic, needs to extend his/her visa after 1 month in the Dominican Republic.
